Eun Chu Chong, Baker's Wife, is happy to be back in the theater at LACES after a semester break to become a gold medalist on the Academic Decathlon team. She has been involved in the LACES musical theater scene forever. Just a few of her credits include playing Judy Brown in Rebel Without a Cause, and the title roles in Peter Pan, and La China Poblana. Television credits include parts on Picket Fences, Sister Sister, and HBO's Dream On . She'll be attending UCLA in the fall.
Mathew Needleman, Baker/Director, is making his stage directorial debut with Into the Woods, however, he has several previous directing credits in film. Among his most notable productions are his feature length motion picture, The Un-Graduate, and the award-winning short 16mm film, The Road. He has studied filmmaking at the California State Summer School for the Arts and theatre production at Northwestern University's National High School Institute. While he continues to write screenplays and has performed stand up comedy, he is perhaps best known to LACES audiences as Daddy Warbucks in Annie. He is the winner of the Bank of America plaque for achievement in the fine arts. He will attend New York University in the fall, as a Film Production major in Tisch School of the Arts.
Adrienne Smith, Witch, has been at LACES for a whopping nine years. She plans to attend the University of Southern California in the fall in the School of Theatre's B.F.A. program. A member of the Play Production class for six years, Adrienne has performed in Grease, Little Shop of Horrors, The Little Mermaid, and Annie, just to name a few. Additionally, Adrienne has been in several Repertory Theatres and has been performing since the ripe age of six.
Michael Storc, Cinderella's Prince/Wolf/ Production Designer has been a student at LACES for six long years, yet, this is his first play at this school. He began acting at the age of seven and has since been in numerous productions. Most recently he played Leon in Neil Simon's Fools and Val in Babes in Arms. He will be attending Cal Arts Valencia in the fall as an art major.
Maya Wisnievitz, Cinderella's Stepmother, has been acting since she was a little girl. She appeared in several television commercials in Mexico. She attended the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute where she appeared in Lance Lane's Tony the Tiger Wants to Go Home. Her other theater credits include A Christmas Carol and La China Poblana at LACES. Although she is not yet a household name, she predicts that wit ten years she will attend the Academy Awards, if not by nomination, by invitation.
Julian Beckford, Rapunzel's Prince, has attended LACES for three years and has participated in drama for two years. Most recently he portrayed Rooster Hannigan in the musical, Annie and Beast in Beauty and the Beast. He enjoys kick boxing and also gives massages to stressed out cast members.
Aisha Aziz, Granny/Giant, is appearing for the first time in a play at LACES However, she greatly enjoys acting and singing.
Randall Cunningham, Jack, has been in Play Production for one year. He played an assistant to the president in the musical adaptation of Annie. Previously, he was in the Saint Mark's version of The Up Side of Down, and he played a street rapper. He enjoys doing the student production of Into the Woods. "There are no small parts, only small actors" - Shakespeare.
Lemor Goldfarb, Jack's Mother, has been acting for four years. In that time she has started in Snow White, Peter Pan, Annie, and other major plays. She enjoys performing in front of people and experiencing new plays. This is her first year in the play production class.
Cassidy Hasson, Rapunzel, has been performing at LACES since the fourth grade. She has been in the casts of Cats, A Christmas Carol, La China Poblana, and Annie. Aside from acting, Cassidy likes to play the guitar, dance, sing, travel, or just hang out at the beach. She hopes to pursue a career in entertainment.
Ricardo Singer, Narrator/Mysterious Man, was last seen as President Roosevelt in Annie. He has been at LACES for three years and enjoys computer programming and has played the guitar for two years. He has played violin for ten years, enjoying music that is mostly metal and some alternative.
Danielle Atwood, Cinderella, has been in plays since she was in preschool. Among her many credits are the role of Grace Ferrel in Annie and Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. She has studied with various theatre groups and is delighted to be in Into the Woods.
Jackie Thompson, Florinda, has loved to sing ever since she was small. At 24th Street School Elementary, she performed first in a fashion show. She joined LACES's play production class and appeared in Annie. She's ready to be a real actress and wakes up in the morning singing. She knows she's meant to be a singer and will make it with her family and God on her side.
Rebecca Wyman, Lucinda, has been in numerous plays since she was five. Most recently, she played the title role in LACES's production of Annie. Last summer, she had the lead role in Once Upon A Mattress with the Oakwood Youth Theatre. She is excited to be working in all student production and is looking forward to many more shows at LACES.
Jaime Anderson, Cinderella's Father, attended Community Magnet last year and became involved in acting in the fourth grade. He was found gifted in drama and appeared in the original play, A Day in the Life of Community Magnet.. Most recently, he earned raves in Annie.
David Cohn, Steward, enjoys playing baseball, basketball, and soccer. He has played the slide trombone for two years and enjoys designing sets for plays. He also likes being with friends, listening to music, and acting.
Bridget Riffe-Turner, Little Red Ridinghood, is an actress, singer, and modern dancer. She appeared in A Winter's Tale, A Christmas Carol, and most recently played the title role in Annie. She has also been seen in several commercials including ones for Thrifty , I Love This Game, and the NBA.
Gail Rogers, Cinderella's Mother, is making her second cameo appearance in a LACES production. In September, she can be seen teaching Spanish in room 136 unless, of course, she is "discovered" by then.
Yumi Chapman, Percussion, enjoys playing the drums which he has been doing for six years. He likes all music, particularly music by The Police.
Megan Luke, Cello, has been playing for seven years. She was the principal cellist for the R.D. Colburn School's Orchestra da Camera for two years and just recently performed with her Young Musician's Foundation Chamber Music Group. She will be attending Yale University in the fall.
Diana Yu, Piano - Act One, began playing piano in the first grade and has played in Advanced Orchestra since then. She is the winner of a two-hundred dollar musical scholarship and she has played for the Pacific American Ballet Theatre sponsored showcase extravaganza in the Embassy Theatre.
Alicia Gibbs, Stage Manager, returns to the theatre business after a seven year absence. She is enthusiastic about being of the production because she is constantly learning about what happens behind the scenes of a musical production and has a chance to call some of the shots for what happens onstage. Alicia is also a pianist and is an active participant in a number of organizations inside and outside of school. She will attend Scripps college in the fall.
Stacey Feige, Production Assistant was originally hired to play the gnome but when it was found that there was no gnome in the show, she was demoted to stage crew. Once there, she was told to chase the hen, feed the cow, and say actor's lines for them. She's performed her duties exceptionally and her doctors at Bellview think that it's just what she needed.
Caren Watts, Assistant Stage Manager, has worked in stage crew for the past five years on such shows as Little Shop of Horrors, La China Poblana, Rebel Without a Cause, Judgment n Jellicle Street, The Little Mermaid, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Last year, she served as stage manager and she plans to pursue a career in the theater.
