Current Activities: I'm currently a broadast televsion news journalist-- an executive producer/produer/writer. I moved to New York to get my masters from Columbia University, after graduating from UC Berkeley, and fell in love with the East Coast. I worked at two national networks (cbs/nbc) and at various local stations up and down the eastern seaboard and a tv management stint in the South.
After 14 years east of the mississippi, i decided to pack my bags and return to los angeles. i've been back about 9.5 months... and man has this town changed!
i'm also an active member and officer of my sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and the National Association of Black Journalists. I also freelance for various publications.
No kids, but a beautiful, incredibly smart nephew!
Comments: I left c.e.s after 9th grade graduation, because i just *had* to see what it was like going to the 'other kind of high school, but I was an original c.e.s'er, too, and all my siblings and cousins eventually set foot at c.e.s. in fact, my brother just graduated from cesla last summer. mrs. rogers, the spanish teacher, is still there! and i head mrs. collins finally retired.
i started c.e.s. in the 4th grade when we were at the wilshire blvd. temple. And i remember many of you.. and still keep in touch with some...(grissett & cynthia.) hope to see you at the reunion!

Comments: As of 11/06, it's been over 24 years since I was last on the Pico & Arlington campus. I don't know where to start. Here's a loose timeline: Hampshire College '86-'90 (four years with no degree), Seattle '91-'97 (got into multimedia and web development and got married), Bay Area '97-'03 (more web development), Minneapolis '04-present (amicably divorced, took up accordion).

Current Activities: I'm mom to two beautiful daughters, ages 11 and 3 1/2. Married for five years, I mostly stay at home with them now and have fun instead of punching a clock. I've been back in Los Angeles for 2 years after a 5-year stint in Illinois and a year in Japan. Life is good, I'm happy.

Current Activities: I work for a government agency that provides health care services to the elderly and disabled population. I am the father of (2) lovely children that are (16) and (13). Man...they've grown up fast.
Comments: I was a proud member of some of the greatest sports teams ever fielded by the "mighty" L.A.C.E.S. Unicorns. It was a pleasure to play for Coach Rick and be on the same team with some of the finest Unicorns ever: Glenn Coffer (Best Athlete-Class of 1986), Lyris Jackson (Guessboy), Jonathan Scott, Ivan Pitts, John Palley, Marc LeBlanc, Timothy Clifton, and Hubert Floyd to name a few. Although she didn't play on any of the traveling teams, at least that I can recall, I cannnot forget Vanessa Gator...who was a great athlete as well.
We had some great battles with Sherman Oakes C.E.S. and Mid-City Alternative which should go down in C.E.S. history. Maybe we can talk about that at our (20) year reunion (has it been that long already!!!???)

Current Activities I don't know how I stumbled onto this page, but I'm glad I did. I am one of the original CESers! I started in 4th grade when the school first opened and graduated with all of you guys. The teachers were wonderful, but I wish I had graduated from a 'regular' high school.
I live in San Francisco with my 2 daughters, ages 6.5 and 7.5. My children attend the Chinese American International School in SF, a private bilingual school. They speak awesome Mandarin!
I worked with symphony orchestras across the U.S. for 10 years and transitioned into education a few years ago. I'm the Director of Development & External Relations for an education think tank. I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM ANYONE. I've been supremely bad about keeping in touch, even with those who attempted to reach me. Grischa Chandy -- I owe you an apology.
