Free/Low CostWeb Sites for Teachers:

Google (choose education)
Now offers teachers free web pages along with a bunch of other services entirely free. You can count on Google to be easy to use and aesthetically pleasing. They give you plenty of space and e-mail accounts and place very few restrictions.

Roxer
This site offers beautiful templates and is easy to use for beginners and advanced users alike.

Teacherweb.com
provides teacher templates and is very easy for beginners

School Notes
also free for teachers, not very customizable

Free Webs

School Rack
another option for teachers

Geocities
provides some general templates and greater flexibility for intermediate users
free plans available

Lunar Pages
Provides free web sites to schools but may be only for advanced users as you will need to design your own web page.

.Mac
This costs $80 a year for teachers and requires a Macintosh computer. Because of its integration with iphoto and the rest of iLife, some of its features cannot be beaten especially for the beginning user.

NVU is a free (Open Source) program which is nearly as good as Dreamweaver. Let me repeat, it's absolutely free and easy to use.

For advanced users and advanced budgets, Dreamweaver is a terrific web design program which I use.
