Writing About Dreams by Susan Obuchi

Prewriting Template for Adventure Story
Mr. Needleman says, "I print these two pages back to back and staple them in packs of five. I give students five days to prewrite. Some students will write about the same thing every day, adding details each day. Other students will write about something different every day. That's okay too. On Friday students pick their favorite story to take through the writing process the following week. I do not correct spelling but do model correct spelling by writing a comment on students' work. For example, a student writes "I went to disland it was fin." I write, "What did you do at Disneyland that was fun?" Mr. Needleman is available for staff development in the Los Angeles area.
