Tune: "Theme from Gilligan's Island" |
Listen to : "Theme from Gilligan's Island" |
|
Sit right back and you’ll hear a tale |
A tale of a fortunate trip, |
That started out with beams and boards |
Aboard a Russian ship. |
The Merchant was his father, |
And Ivan thought a fool. |
With beams and boards he set sail. |
For a trade in foreign lands. |
For a trade in foreign lands. |
. |
The winds started getting rough |
Ivan’s ship was lost. |
If not for the courage of fearless Ivan. |
The salt would be not. |
The salt would be not. |
|
The ship ran aground on an isle with tasteless boring food. |
With Ivan. |
The King too. |
A piece of gold and silver |
A pretty princess |
The salt and tastey stew. |
Here on Ivan’s Isle |
|
So then comes Ivan’s jealous brothers. |
They seized him and threw him over. |
He grabbed onto a floating board. |
There he did take cover |
The gloomy giant and mustache too. |
Will do their very best |
To take poor Ivan home. |
To be with the princess |
| . |
No gold, no salt, no Russian ship |
Not a single brag or boast |
Like Pinocchio |
Ivan told the whole east coast. |
But the giant, he did smile. |
From Ivan’s playing of the mandolin |
Here on Ivan’s Isle. |
