Students write their own questions. There may be spelling mistakes. However, it is expected that students will spell the "No Excuse" words correctly...

Closeup on concepts

Concepts can be labeled drawings of folktales (labeling is great for beginning writers and English Language Learners). Later we can look at the illustrated folktales and find common elements of folktales.
