Captain Bill Pinkney Summary Chant

Captain Bill sailed there
Captain Bill sailed everywhere.
He left Boston Harbor
On his boat Committment
He sailed to Bermuda
where house roofs collect rain in it.

He sailed to South America
and heard a drumming band.
He saw strange macaws and caimans
and the biggest rain forest in the land.

His boat pitched and rolled in the storm
on his way to Africa where his ancesors were born. "Lions live there and rhinos too," he radioed the students who were listening from school.

The last continent he visited was Australia
where kangaroos and koalas live and laughing kookabara. He returned home to Boston where all the children cheered; for he made a dream come true tha he prepared for all those years.
