After two years of editing student films myself, I handed the equipment over to students and they had the opportunity to write, photograph, direct, and edit their own short films.

For our first project of the year, we addressed second grade California History-Social Science Standard:
2.4 Students understand basic economic concepts and their individual roles in the economy and demonstrate basic economic reasoning skills.
Students brought in and analyzed existing cereal boxes for “persuasion” and “gimmicks” then created their own cereal boxes and commercials to go with them.

Thank you to Mary Hahn of Roscomare Road Elementary for the cereal box unit
