Related to the second grade California social studies standard on economics, students participated in examining commercial cereal boxes and then creating their own.

Students discussed the concepts of persuasion and gimmicks and even had a mock sale where they sold their cereals to our neighboring class.

At the conclusion of the unit, students wrote, filmed, and edited these commercials. Students were able to hire their own crew and make decisions about their props, setting, and actors.
